Bangladesh Defence Delegation Visits Pakistan

Islamabad: A high-level defence delegation from Bangladesh, led by Lieutenant General SM Qamarul Hassan, Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division, visited Pakistan on Wednesday. The delegation met with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu, Chief of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), at the Air Headquarters in Islamabad.

During the meeting, both sides explored avenues to bolster military ties and deepen cooperation between their respective air forces. According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), discussions focused on joint training initiatives, collaborative opportunities, and the exchange of expertise in advanced military technology.

The Bangladeshi delegation showed a strong interest in Pakistan’s locally developed military equipment, particularly the JF-17 Thunder fighter jets. Lieutenant General Hassan commended the Pakistan Air Force for its modern technological advancements and indigenous production capabilities. He expressed admiration for Pakistan’s technical frameworks and highlighted the potential for enhanced collaboration in the production of state-of-the-art military hardware.

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening defence relations with Bangladesh, emphasizing the importance of shared training programs and continued engagement to support regional security and stability.

The visit underscored the shared resolve of both nations to enhance military cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations in the defence sector. This engagement reflects the growing ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh as they explore opportunities to work together on advanced military technologies and joint initiatives.
